coming soon...

I’ve got loads more work to share, but at the moment I’m a bit busy with, you know, work. I will update this page soon, but if you’re interested in what I’ve done over the past years, shoot me an e-mail!

Lichting

The concept of ‘Lichting’ is simple: the best academy graduates of one year in one central catwalk show. Lichting was founded in 2007 to bridge the gap between the academies and students on the one side and the talent-hungry fashion industry on the other. Lichting brings together the very best of each of Holland’s seven fashion academies. As a result, Lichting is one of the most highly principled fashion events in the Netherlands, both in terms of quality and representation. Lichting is a project of HTNK Fashion Recruitment & Consultancy and Amsterdam Fashion Week www.lichting.nl

As the project manager for Lichting since 2013, I am responsible for the guidance of the 14 participants, selecting an international panel, the production of the panel pitch, press presentation and front stage of the runway show. I also take on the communication on- and offline for Lichting, and function as a spider in the web between Amsterdam Fashion Week, HTNK, the seven Dutch fashion academies, the fourteen participants, the production team of the runway show, the PR agencies, and the international panel.

Dutch trade mission to milan

Assigned by the Dutch Consulate in Milan to organize part of the Dutch trade mission to Italy, HTNK proposed to highlight this connection and executed a range of activities.

Programming across three days, we produced an industry round table event with House of Denim and Modint, with industry experts, as well as Dutch and Italian stakeholders from government, education and enterprise, to discuss how to improve collaborations between the two nations.
Additionally I produced an exhibition at La Triennale Di Milano showcasing the Italian X Dutch collaborations of the Global Denim Awards and hosted the King and Queen of the Netherlands, Willem-Alexander and Máxima, as guests of honour. Click here for more information on the trade mission.

I functioned as the project manager for the fashion aspect on this trade mission, from the creative interpretation of an open brief by the Dutch Consulate in Milan, to a second by second script for the Dutch King & Queen.
Experiencing la dolce vita in Milan whilst fixing broken lightbulbs in the exhibition and simultaneously handling last-minute requests by the Italian fire department, or blending in with the royal guards to time presentations of our exhibitors, really confirmed I don’t shy away from a challenge and manage to stay calm in stressful situations. I think that’s how I got my nickname “pressure cooker”!
